What would happen if you had a dicot lawn and tried to mow it?

Grasses (monocots) form their primary meristem near the ground surface rather than at the tips of branches the way dicots do. How does this feature allow you to grow a lawn and mow it every week in the summer? What would happen if you had a dicot lawn and tried to mow it?

You’d get a lawn full of stalks….and you won’t have to mow your lawn again for a looong time. It’d look real ugly though.
Monocots evolved that way to deal with constant grazing, it lets them recover faster. However, once you get over a few feet tall, it soon becomes tedious to grow everything from the ground up. Which is why there aren’t any monocot “trees” except bamboos.
