Could you put in drain tiles underneath your sod? That would help with the standing water in winter. Take a soil sample to your county agriculture agent and have it analyzed and see what it needs. Count on lime, or fertilizer for sure, at least in my part of the country.

Spread lawn seed over the area when the water recedes in spring. My mother-in-law sprinkles lime over the lawn to kill moss. Prune shady trees to let in as much sunlight as possible, even painting fences or sheds white will reflect light onto the area. You really need to find away to get rid of the water in winter. Best wishes.

i have the same wet lawn. this spring im going to dig a 2 ft. deep trench and run it down through the yard and tie into a drain. off the main trench im going to “y” off some arms to drain the rest of the yard . i will put 4 in. rolled perforated pipe in the ditches , cover with resin paper and gravel to within 6 in. of surface. then add top soil and seed. i hope this will work
