Can a lawn that has been yellowed by rabbit urine be restored to a healthy state?

November 17th, 2008

Aaron E asked:

It seems the rabbits, wild cottontails, return to the same general area of the lawn, big area as it is. Also with returning the grass to a healthy state how do I keep the critters away?

Water the area heavy. Most problem comes from the varmit cutting the turf too low.

A pellet gun works well or a $3.00 dog pound reject works even better!!!

Most Feed stores carry ZOODO, OR BIG CAT SCAT, use it as a fertilizer, just scatter it and rake it in, it will not only give you a beautiful lawn, but the will animal will stay off from your lawn.

I have 5 wild rabbits in my yard every evening…but do not have any grass killed…However there is a portion next to it, there is a dog and there all kinds of killed grass. Dog urine will kill grass every time. There a variety of grubs that can and do kill grass by eating the roots.
